The Fairy

The fairy in my garden has decided she likes accessorizing; particularly with large hats. Mine or R-mans' always above her own. I love watching her play outside by herself. She does the cutest things like pull the sheets off the line so she can hide underneath them.

All she needs is a purse and her dolly in the pram, then she'd be a real little lady. Ah this girl cracks me up!

past few months

There is just so much to catch up on I don't really know where to begin.

Of coarse we have moved house which has been a great adventure. Even looking back at photos I miss my old house a little bit but not enough to make me cry or anything. Just a little twinge in my heart that wants to be there just a bit.

But enough of that. Here are some last moments there and some first moments here...

Here we are enjoying our earth at a Joy School lesson

Little miss independant

Upon leaving our old town I got to see this HOT PINK SUN! The photo does it absolutely no justice i'm afraid but I'm so glad I got to see it!

I wish they were this sweet to each other all the time. I have images in my mind of River as a teenager driving Macey to dances and parties, chaperoning her at concerts & just having fun together that''s what this picture reminded me of when I took it (hopefully good things to come)

Halloween party. Poor Riv got a bit sick that day. He's hiding up the back as Buzz Lightyear!

For Trunk or Treat night River had been asking to be Robin Hood pretty much all year. There was no way I was getting out of this one! Here he is in the making of his costume :)

There is a fairy in our new garden. She "cleans the earth" by moving bark from one side to the other.

This little girl is inexpressibly cute to me & such a cheeky little thing I can't put her down in one word. Her strong will and determination are taking her places though. I've got to say that.

Ok falling asleep now. Must finfsh off! bye!

Sunrise!

This is why I like getting up early to exercise.

Felt so lucky and amazed to live here while taking these pics.

Check out the first rays of sunrise reflecting off the buildings.

One day i'm going to get River up to come with me. I think he'll love it! He's so excited that we're living much closer to the beach now and will get to go heaps more often.

he makes her laugh, he makes her cry!

(I had this post saved as a draft and i'm not sure why. This was a few weeks ago and I don't want to miss it)

I love how Macey and River play together sometimes. He will do something totally ridiculous and she will walk around in total Joy of it all laughing her head off and squealing, encouraging him to do it again.

I have had a really good day today. I have let things slide. Stayed in my pajamas all day. Painted with River and just appreciated the things I have, especially those two little munchkins. It's interesting that it takes some sick kids and a crazy night the night before to make this happen.

Today I told River a secret "You're really hansome"

He then turned straight to Macey and hugged her and said "Macey you're so cute."

So I told him another secret "You're a really good big brother"

Once again he turned straight to Macey and payed it forward again by saying "Oh I love you Macey. You're so pretty."

Wow. What an obvious awesome display of how children model our behavior.

I completely forgot about this and I can't believe I didn't post it a few weeks ago that just totally shows me how much I need to write every cute thing like that down!

Here are some pictures from this last weekend.

Don't you love his leg going across her like that. He was assisting us in making sure she doesn't leave the bench for the photo as she was trying to get off. haha.

Oh sometimes he makes her laugh and sometimes he makes her scream! Either way i'm trying to find it all funny!

Trials Come in Drones

Word of warning. Don’t ever sit around and say “hmm my life is pretty cruisy at the moment! I don’t really have any major trials happening. I wonder what’s around the corner.”

You will not be pleased with what results from internal conversations like this.

For me that night came a phone call from our Land Lords telling us they were moving back in a number of weeks so if we could start looking for a new place to live.

I cried.

I love our home. It’s our home!

But it’s not. Not really.

Well I’m still struggling to find a place that is suitable for our family but I know we will.

And then just to top it off I crashed our car the next day and totalled it.

We are all fine. We were just shocked. My airbag came out and I bit my lip on it and the kids bit their tongues. But THAT WAS IT. LUCKY!

Thank goodness we were all ok. I didn’t lose any of my children and I didn’t leave them motherless.
But R-man cried.

“I love our car. I don’t want another car!”

I guess we learnt sometimes you lose things you love. But as long as they’re just things you can get through it!

Don’t know how I could live without these little guys

The next day as River was contemplating the whole accident he said to me,
“Mum when you were about to crash you should have put up a force field around the car?”

One of my friends told me I probably did!

It was an insane feeling looking ahead of me and knowing I was about to crash and thinking all these things at once;’ I can’t believe this is happening to me, I’m about to kill my children.’ And then slamming on the brakes and then came that horrible sound like thunder where your car crumbles. It was an experience I hope to never happen again. R-man said the same thing.

Our poor car

Back to the house situation when walking into the real estate agent’s today (and previously) R-man has pointed out the homes he’d like to live in. Mansion’s with massive swimming pools and paddock’s for horses. I’ll see what we can come up with. If it has a backyard I will be thrilled.

Well wish us luck in the quest for newness. Still trying to get excited about this one.

How have you made it easier to move your children from a home they have become attached too?

Filling up my wedding tank!

I love weddings. And when I say I love weddings I really mean it.

I begin my show of adoration for this event by keepsaking the invitation in a special folder I’ve labelled “Wedding Invitations” (if i've received an invitation to your wedding or engagement party be rest assured it didn't end up in the trash.)

Then after arranging what to do with the kids (whether they’re invited or not),agonising over what to wear and trying to squeeze in time to do my hair and makeup. I go prepared to take in all the details of the day & bask in the glow of the newly married couple. And planning those intricate details is never wasted in my opinion. It's the finer details that really get me excited.

At my friend Imogen's wedding last year (you can't miss me i'm the pregnant mamma). I loved her color scheme and her flowers were to die for! I couldn't stop looking at them. And her of coarse. She really did make the most stunning bride!

Honestly I know this is super weird but if I could; I would remarry Jimmi every year just so I could plan another wedding. Since this is neither a socially acceptable option nor a very practical one I simply look forward to the time I can plan my own daughter’s wedding. But seriously how long can a girl wait? I mean really…

Thank goodness my two very lovely, very industrious , very talented friends Emily and Carrie over at “A Darling Affair” are helping to fill my wedding void and are having their debut Wedding and Events Fair this Saturday. I can’t Wait.

Come sign up on the day to join in the tutorial i'll be holding of how to make these babies…

Yep we’ve seen them everywhere pompoms are taking the decorating world by storm and they’re so easy, cost effective, eye catching and did I mention... easy.
I really love how versatile they can be too.

You can do bright and bold for a child’s party,

Jimmi the Dad!

So today Jimmi excitedly sent through this picture. sorry couldn't figure out how to turn it the right way on here.

It's his solar accredation! Woohoo I'm so excited for him. I'm glad it's something to help him be even more excited about being an electrician. Because there's a few thing's i've learnt about Jimmi...

1. He actually likes a challenge and needs to be constantly learning new things and stimulating himself
2.  When he really wants something he will work hard to get it

I have been surprised to discover these things about him recently and i'm sure many other people would too. Because Jimmi was the boy who had big boofy hair and didn't care what he wore and ran around the city climbing buildings

And almost burnt down this mountain (the one they're standing on top of)

And let's admit it he didn't really care for school too much (I think his school seemed to give him the opportunity to wag in my opinion by only slapping him on the wrist or not even that haha)

But then he went on a mission for our Church to Korea and had some incredible experiences..

and then came back like this...

I couldn't resist,

So now after almost 5 years of marriage (coming up this month)

I've come to realise though the determination to do what he wanted was there always. he hung out with his friends all the time because that's what he actually really wanted to be doing with his life. He was a social butterfly. But now he is still somewhat social but very family orientated. I guess that happens to everyone as they grow into their roles as a parent.

I have just adored watching Jimmi with our kids. He is such an awesome role model for River and he just adores him. He really shows an example of trying to live a good, rich, full, well balanced life.

This Father's Day my sister in law (unintentionally) encouraged me to not buy into the commercialness of Father's Day but to keep it simple and still make it an awesome Celebration. Not to mention Jimmi had already told me not to spend any money on him (even though he'd spent money on me for my Birthday that week and done countless acts of service for me. Even when he was sick)

So River made him an awesome gift with two boats stuck together (his boat and Jimmi's boat) as well as an awesome painting and he built him a tower with his blocks & bought him a chocolate (to share he specified though).

We made him a yummy breakfast and I made this sign with his name for his chair and wrote a personal Love note from me, River (dictated by River) and Macey (not dictated by Macey).

It was simple but I hope he felt special.

River brought home a cupcake from Primary and a little note about what he loves about his Dad. Three of the answers were. "He loves playing volleyball with me" "He loves to go to volleyball" "I like playing volleyball with him."

You can sure tell what floats River's boat!

Here they are posing as superhero's for the camera. I could not get River keep his tongue in his mouth for this shoot haha.

We love him so much! We are so so thankful for him & all he does for our family!

mwaaaaaa!

Best Birthday Present Ever!

I love sharing my Birthday Month with Macey. It means the decorations from her party can stay up for the whole month because she’s at the beginning and I’m at the end.

And really when she was born I felt like I was receiving the “Best Gift Ever” & maybe having our birthdays so close will help me to always remember that (even when she screams at me, which she does already believe it or not).

You Know you’ve got a girl when a) they high pitch scream at you and b) you can do this in their hair…

Yes I really love doing her hair :)

Today I reached a rather ordinary year in my opinion, 24. Not really milestone material but still enough to let me know I’m growing up (in case the two children I have weren’t enough). The day started with no particular grand expectations but turned out to be really lovely. A long play at the park with the kids, unexpected presents and visits and lots of texts, phone calls and facebook messages to help Celebrate with me and then topped off by a dinner I didn’t have to cook. Brilliant!

So although there was no party for me I’ve just been looking over the pictures of Macey’s party and realising there’s so many gorgeous ones I want to post them all.

We ate chocolate coated strawberry pops (which River helped me make... hence they are not perfect but I can assure hygiene was enforced)

We ate pink cake with meringue frosting (will need to perfect that frosting)

We played a little game where Macey had to choose from a variety of objects on the picnic rug. Whichever she picked first was then up to us to decipher what this meant for her future. She was hesitant at first so Jimmi tried coaxing her.

Then at age one Macey made her future career choice. A Doctor!

Doctors' can be rockstar's too!

With My Mother and Grandmother. Love this shot even though you can't fully see their faces.

Opening some presents with some cute excited cousins at toe.

Uncle Darren couldn't help himself

Playing with her toys

Yep safe to say she loves that couch.

Snuck in a photo with my brother and Sisters who were there.

After the party had died down Macey entertained us with a bit of a floor show. She is such a cute dancer. (sadly no pics of this)

Snuggles with Daddy after a long morning. She was so tired the whole time but put on such a brave face and kept smiling for everyone. After a few hours she was well and truly knackered.

We Love you Maceydor!

Can't wait for many Birthday Parties to come!

Special thanks to my sister Stacey for being our photographer for the day xo  Also my Mum and Grandma for helping make food xo and my awesome sister in law's Liz and Leah for helping prep xo Couldn't have done it without you guys!
