he makes her laugh, he makes her cry!

(I had this post saved as a draft and i'm not sure why. This was a few weeks ago and I don't want to miss it)

I love how Macey and River play together sometimes. He will do something totally ridiculous and she will walk around in total Joy of it all laughing her head off and squealing, encouraging him to do it again.

I have had a really good day today. I have let things slide. Stayed in my pajamas all day. Painted with River and just appreciated the things I have, especially those two little munchkins. It's interesting that it takes some sick kids and a crazy night the night before to make this happen.

Today I told River a secret "You're really hansome"

He then turned straight to Macey and hugged her and said "Macey you're so cute."

So I told him another secret "You're a really good big brother"

Once again he turned straight to Macey and payed it forward again by saying "Oh I love you Macey. You're so pretty."

Wow. What an obvious awesome display of how children model our behavior.

I completely forgot about this and I can't believe I didn't post it a few weeks ago that just totally shows me how much I need to write every cute thing like that down!

Here are some pictures from this last weekend.

Don't you love his leg going across her like that. He was assisting us in making sure she doesn't leave the bench for the photo as she was trying to get off. haha.

Oh sometimes he makes her laugh and sometimes he makes her scream! Either way i'm trying to find it all funny!

Trials Come in Drones

Word of warning. Don’t ever sit around and say “hmm my life is pretty cruisy at the moment! I don’t really have any major trials happening. I wonder what’s around the corner.”

You will not be pleased with what results from internal conversations like this.

For me that night came a phone call from our Land Lords telling us they were moving back in a number of weeks so if we could start looking for a new place to live.

I cried.

I love our home. It’s our home!

But it’s not. Not really.

Well I’m still struggling to find a place that is suitable for our family but I know we will.

And then just to top it off I crashed our car the next day and totalled it.

We are all fine. We were just shocked. My airbag came out and I bit my lip on it and the kids bit their tongues. But THAT WAS IT. LUCKY!

Thank goodness we were all ok. I didn’t lose any of my children and I didn’t leave them motherless.
But R-man cried.

“I love our car. I don’t want another car!”

I guess we learnt sometimes you lose things you love. But as long as they’re just things you can get through it!

Don’t know how I could live without these little guys

The next day as River was contemplating the whole accident he said to me,
“Mum when you were about to crash you should have put up a force field around the car?”

One of my friends told me I probably did!

It was an insane feeling looking ahead of me and knowing I was about to crash and thinking all these things at once;’ I can’t believe this is happening to me, I’m about to kill my children.’ And then slamming on the brakes and then came that horrible sound like thunder where your car crumbles. It was an experience I hope to never happen again. R-man said the same thing.

Our poor car

Back to the house situation when walking into the real estate agent’s today (and previously) R-man has pointed out the homes he’d like to live in. Mansion’s with massive swimming pools and paddock’s for horses. I’ll see what we can come up with. If it has a backyard I will be thrilled.

Well wish us luck in the quest for newness. Still trying to get excited about this one.

How have you made it easier to move your children from a home they have become attached too?

Filling up my wedding tank!

I love weddings. And when I say I love weddings I really mean it.

I begin my show of adoration for this event by keepsaking the invitation in a special folder I’ve labelled “Wedding Invitations” (if i've received an invitation to your wedding or engagement party be rest assured it didn't end up in the trash.)

Then after arranging what to do with the kids (whether they’re invited or not),agonising over what to wear and trying to squeeze in time to do my hair and makeup. I go prepared to take in all the details of the day & bask in the glow of the newly married couple. And planning those intricate details is never wasted in my opinion. It's the finer details that really get me excited.

At my friend Imogen's wedding last year (you can't miss me i'm the pregnant mamma). I loved her color scheme and her flowers were to die for! I couldn't stop looking at them. And her of coarse. She really did make the most stunning bride!

Honestly I know this is super weird but if I could; I would remarry Jimmi every year just so I could plan another wedding. Since this is neither a socially acceptable option nor a very practical one I simply look forward to the time I can plan my own daughter’s wedding. But seriously how long can a girl wait? I mean really…

Thank goodness my two very lovely, very industrious , very talented friends Emily and Carrie over at “A Darling Affair” are helping to fill my wedding void and are having their debut Wedding and Events Fair this Saturday. I can’t Wait.

Come sign up on the day to join in the tutorial i'll be holding of how to make these babies…

Yep we’ve seen them everywhere pompoms are taking the decorating world by storm and they’re so easy, cost effective, eye catching and did I mention... easy.
I really love how versatile they can be too.

You can do bright and bold for a child’s party,

Jimmi the Dad!

So today Jimmi excitedly sent through this picture. sorry couldn't figure out how to turn it the right way on here.

It's his solar accredation! Woohoo I'm so excited for him. I'm glad it's something to help him be even more excited about being an electrician. Because there's a few thing's i've learnt about Jimmi...

1. He actually likes a challenge and needs to be constantly learning new things and stimulating himself
2.  When he really wants something he will work hard to get it

I have been surprised to discover these things about him recently and i'm sure many other people would too. Because Jimmi was the boy who had big boofy hair and didn't care what he wore and ran around the city climbing buildings

And almost burnt down this mountain (the one they're standing on top of)

And let's admit it he didn't really care for school too much (I think his school seemed to give him the opportunity to wag in my opinion by only slapping him on the wrist or not even that haha)

But then he went on a mission for our Church to Korea and had some incredible experiences..

and then came back like this...

I couldn't resist,

So now after almost 5 years of marriage (coming up this month)

I've come to realise though the determination to do what he wanted was there always. he hung out with his friends all the time because that's what he actually really wanted to be doing with his life. He was a social butterfly. But now he is still somewhat social but very family orientated. I guess that happens to everyone as they grow into their roles as a parent.

I have just adored watching Jimmi with our kids. He is such an awesome role model for River and he just adores him. He really shows an example of trying to live a good, rich, full, well balanced life.

This Father's Day my sister in law (unintentionally) encouraged me to not buy into the commercialness of Father's Day but to keep it simple and still make it an awesome Celebration. Not to mention Jimmi had already told me not to spend any money on him (even though he'd spent money on me for my Birthday that week and done countless acts of service for me. Even when he was sick)

So River made him an awesome gift with two boats stuck together (his boat and Jimmi's boat) as well as an awesome painting and he built him a tower with his blocks & bought him a chocolate (to share he specified though).

We made him a yummy breakfast and I made this sign with his name for his chair and wrote a personal Love note from me, River (dictated by River) and Macey (not dictated by Macey).

It was simple but I hope he felt special.

River brought home a cupcake from Primary and a little note about what he loves about his Dad. Three of the answers were. "He loves playing volleyball with me" "He loves to go to volleyball" "I like playing volleyball with him."

You can sure tell what floats River's boat!

Here they are posing as superhero's for the camera. I could not get River keep his tongue in his mouth for this shoot haha.

We love him so much! We are so so thankful for him & all he does for our family!

mwaaaaaa!
