Jimmi the Dad!

So today Jimmi excitedly sent through this picture. sorry couldn't figure out how to turn it the right way on here.

It's his solar accredation! Woohoo I'm so excited for him. I'm glad it's something to help him be even more excited about being an electrician. Because there's a few thing's i've learnt about Jimmi...

1. He actually likes a challenge and needs to be constantly learning new things and stimulating himself
2.  When he really wants something he will work hard to get it

I have been surprised to discover these things about him recently and i'm sure many other people would too. Because Jimmi was the boy who had big boofy hair and didn't care what he wore and ran around the city climbing buildings

And almost burnt down this mountain (the one they're standing on top of)

And let's admit it he didn't really care for school too much (I think his school seemed to give him the opportunity to wag in my opinion by only slapping him on the wrist or not even that haha)

But then he went on a mission for our Church to Korea and had some incredible experiences..

and then came back like this...

I couldn't resist,

So now after almost 5 years of marriage (coming up this month)

I've come to realise though the determination to do what he wanted was there always. he hung out with his friends all the time because that's what he actually really wanted to be doing with his life. He was a social butterfly. But now he is still somewhat social but very family orientated. I guess that happens to everyone as they grow into their roles as a parent.

I have just adored watching Jimmi with our kids. He is such an awesome role model for River and he just adores him. He really shows an example of trying to live a good, rich, full, well balanced life.

This Father's Day my sister in law (unintentionally) encouraged me to not buy into the commercialness of Father's Day but to keep it simple and still make it an awesome Celebration. Not to mention Jimmi had already told me not to spend any money on him (even though he'd spent money on me for my Birthday that week and done countless acts of service for me. Even when he was sick)

So River made him an awesome gift with two boats stuck together (his boat and Jimmi's boat) as well as an awesome painting and he built him a tower with his blocks & bought him a chocolate (to share he specified though).

We made him a yummy breakfast and I made this sign with his name for his chair and wrote a personal Love note from me, River (dictated by River) and Macey (not dictated by Macey).

It was simple but I hope he felt special.

River brought home a cupcake from Primary and a little note about what he loves about his Dad. Three of the answers were. "He loves playing volleyball with me" "He loves to go to volleyball" "I like playing volleyball with him."

You can sure tell what floats River's boat!

Here they are posing as superhero's for the camera. I could not get River keep his tongue in his mouth for this shoot haha.

We love him so much! We are so so thankful for him & all he does for our family!

mwaaaaaa!
